2-Jun-09 Over 1000 ZAKA volunteers throughout Israel participated in the nationwide emergency
civil defense drill code-named Turning Point 3, which reached its peak today, Tuesday
2.6.09 with the simulation of long-range missile hits. Approved by the Defense Minister
as a volunteer emergency organization, ZAKA has played an integral part in the complex
and wide-ranging drill, including a presence both in the central command center
of the National Emergency Authority and in the field. All ZAKA units, including

24-May-09 The sun shone, the crowds cheered, and seventeen brave runners, young and not-so-young, ran 5 or 10 kilometres around the grounds of the Haberdasher Aske's School for a good cause – raising thousands of pounds between them for British Friends of ZAKA.
This was the first time that British Friends of ZAKA had participated in this annual Maccabi Community Fun Run – and judging by the success of the event and the support from runners and spectators alike, this won’t be the last time.

Meron, Israel - 12-May-09 A joint ZAKA – Ichud Hatzola emergency hotline fielded hundreds of calls for help, first aid and separated children and parents during the recent two day traditional celebrations at Mount Meron for Lag Ba'Omer , which drew tens of thousands of Orthodox families making the traditional pilgrimage to the resting place of kabbalist Rabbi Shimon Bar Yochai.
