IN ISRAEL ON LAG BA'OMER? VISIT ZAKA ON MOUNT MERON

On Lag Ba'Omer, hundreds of thousands flock to Mount Meron, the resting place of Rabbi Shimon Bar Yochai. While families enjoy lighting bonfires and celebrating the first haircut for three year old boys, ZAKA volunteers will be on hand as part of the organization's ongoing accident prevention campaigns.

For the fifth consecutive year, ZAKA will operate a 24 hour first aid station on the site and distribute thousands of safety leaflets with information on dealing with burns and heatstroke.

With so many children among the thronging crowds, many are separated from their parents. ZAKA has a proven response to this challenge as well – distributing tens of thousands of children's identification wristbands, bearing their names and parents' contact numbers.
